After I recently broke my leg, I haven't been able to go to work and have been stuck wheeling myself around my house in a wheelchair. I've known my daughter's had a myspace for a while but never had the time to take a look at it, but now that I have medical leave of abscense from work I've taken some of my free time to find and look at my daughter's myspace. Last week I forgot to close the browser when I was done with it, and my daughter caught me snooping on her, so she made her profile private, is there anyway I can still view her page?

I think you have every right to know what is going on in your daughter's life.

I think you should have kept track of it sooner, not wait until you have a leave of absence. You should never be too busy for your kids, when you wait til you do have the time it could be too late.

Ask her for her password and if she doesn't give it to you take a privelage away.

I used to have myspace, the only way you will be able to view her page since its private is if you look at her page when you are signed on to someones profile that is a friend of hers on myspace..

I don't think so. Just talk to her. It IS kind of an invasion of privacy if you know what I mean and she was disgusted by your actions, or to put it nicely disaapointed. That's why she put it to private. Just don't snoop around anymore. I think you either have to be her friend to see her profile or get her username and password.

Yeah there's a way for you to view it! Tell your 17 year old daughter, who you take care of to give you the password. If she's self-sufficient, then I take it all back, but if she's living under your roof and you are paying for her expenses, she gets no privacy. She wants privacy, tell her to get her own place.

start a funny page yourself. Like "vaccume cleaner" or something goofy. get a few other friends 1st like her friends. Put a whole bunch of funny stuff and pictures on your site, then send her an invation to be a friend. You will full access to her site

I'm sorry but checking your daughters myspace is just rude and asking for her password is worse. Thats a really bad idea. I know this because I am a teenage daughter with a myspace. My mom knows I have one and she's nice enough not to go on it and check it. Just think back to when you were younger. Did you keep a diary or somthing private you didn't want your parents to know about? What would you do if they read it all the time and invaded your personal space?

Immediatly by a key stroke logger. This is the only way to know if something is up. It records all the key strokes on the computer and any messages and e-mails back. It also takes a snap shot of images sent. You can find them online for $20 something. She will not even see that it is running. This does not mean you do not trust your daughter. You just don't trust everyone else.

I know that being a mom can sometimes temp you to see what she's really like out of sight, but really we have to give our daughters at least some sort of decency, respect and of course time to be by herself or with friends so that she could live without fear of you not trusting her. I would just talk to her or find other ways to bond with her and open up. Share some of your own teen aged moments when you talk to her and tell her that she can come to you for anything and I mean anything!
