Is there any way to make a Myspace blog private so only you can read it?

I don't have anybody on my preferred list, so I guess I could do that. Does diary mean private? I viewed my profile when I had the blog set on Diary and it still showed up. I checked the FAQs, but there wasn't anything there about private blogs.

Diary would be the private setting...

When you're testing it out, try logging off before viewing the blog... or if you have another MySpace profile, add it as a friend before trying to view it under that profile. This will test to see if it is private even to your friends as well.

However, if you do have really private stuff like your address and phone number, I would suggest saving those in a plain text file on your computer... or if you have Outlook, save it in a memo... that way, if it so happens that your account gets hacked, this information will still be safe.

Yes, when you write your blog at the bottom of the screen, in the gray box, under current mood and comments is your privacy settings. If you click on "diary" you will be the only one who can view it. I just tried it out myself to be sure.

Seems to me, blogging is for sharing. If you want to keep it private, keep it off of the internet.

But...to answer your actual question...at the bottom of your blog, before you post it, theres a part that says "privacy". It gives the choices "public, diary, friends, preferred". If you click "diary" then it's for your eyes only. It defaults as public. If you have only a few of your friends that you'd like to see it, but not everyone on your friends list, create a preferred list then click that option.
