nope. if jerks want to add me, i just don't accept their add request. but i'm in groups that interest me and making new friends who sometimes add me from my profile. but i understand if people want to limit their interaction to people they already know and have on their friend list. but that's not me.

yes, because my ex best friends mom had a stalker and he tried to pose as my ex best friedns brother and ask me out so he could catch me and take me as a hostage if i didnt take him to my ex best friends moms house.

yes, only because there are so many predators out there its insane....second, I only talk to friends on there, no one uses e-mail any more so I have moved onto myspace...

i do because i started having a problem with a certain person who i actually know in real life. so i didn't want to have that problem anymore, and i only allow 'friends' to see what i'm up to in my life.

plus, i'm a teacher and as a teacher i wouldn't want students being able to look at my profile.

in general, it's a safer option.

yes, i have my profile on private because i don't want creeps out there adding me.

no, i dont think it defeats the purpose of myspace, because myspace is a way to keep in contact with your friends (so is msn)

i did haveit on private, but i just changed it to public yesterday. i had it that way because its safer especially for a high school girl. the internet is a scary place. i took it off because i now know the website well enough that i know how to block people and i have nothing bad or permiscuous on my site so i think that it is okay

no, but it is on private anyway for some reason, even though i checked it and it is set to let everyone view. how annoying.

Yes. Why? because i don't want weird stalker people looking at it, and when i used to have it public i got way too many friend requests from people i didn't know. Now that it's private i don't get as many. I only accept requests from people i know. Also If it defeated the purpose of myspace it wouldn't be an option. You can still talk to people you don't know without them lookin at your profile first.

Yes, I set my profile to private view. And no, the sole purpose of myspace isn't just to meet new friends. You can use it to suit your own purposes. I use it to keep updated/in touch with my friends since we graduated from high school last year. I'd like to be able to do that without some creepy dude stalking me online. :)

yes i dont think its safe to do it that way no on myspace your friends can still add you and you can add random people that you dont know still they just wont seee whats on your profile until you approve them so
