My point is, not making them totally private so no one can view them but me... I want them to be available only for a list of people from my friends list.... PLEASE HELP

You can only make them private to people that aren't your friends.

I don't think Tom made it possible to make a list

and only let them view it.

It's not possible, I'm sorry! At this time you can make it public to the world, private to your WHOLE friends list, or private to you only.

Your only options are to make them public to everyone, viewable by friends only, or to YOU only.

There isn't a "preferred list" for it like there is with blogs.
