An end to the MySpace rumours!?

This is from an official message from MySpace (emailed to all users just now):

"There have been rumours that MySpace has suffered attack from hackers and that private information has been stolen. This is not true. MySpace is currently under maintainance. We are improving the service, but will unfortunately not be able to offer as many free features. Bullitin Boards and Blogs will still be free to use, but personalisation of pages, pictures, videos, music etc will all be reserved for subscribing users. The subscription will cost $30 p.a., but will cover all new features we will be introducing".

The email goes on to explain new features. Stop the rumours about the hacking, the truth is, MySpace is going to be a pay-per-view service!

IMPORTANT:

There was a security breach at MySpace. The MySpace team are working to fix it. During the breach, all the email addresses and passwords were stolen, so when you get back into MySpace you have to change your password. Also, if you use the same password to access your email you have to change it ASAP. There was a message on there about this earlier on, but it's since been changed to the one that's now displaying. I guess they don't want to bad publicity!

NOTE TO THE QUESTIONER: I never received that email. Did anyone receive it? Are you making this up?

Ya right i dont think it will become a pay per view site its been free for 6 years and Tom is most likely not goin to make us pay unless hes got somethin up his *** i just asked wat is up n i do think maybe a hacker got in on myspace there are hackers all the time on myspace and i think they need to stop doing wat they are doing plus i dont belive your staff on myspace cause you wouldnt of been allowed to tell us this untill myspace was up n running

Nice try. You spelled rumor, maintenance, personalization and bulletin wrong. Before you try and make up a fake e-mail,

at least make it actually look and sound "official".

Actually, the only thing they have spelled incorrectly is 'bulletin'. For the other words, they've used Australian/English spelling. Since MySpace is American, and Tom is American, it is obviously a fake email, or a lying poster.

You should get your facts right before you post, or get egg on your face....lol
